WIAW: Early Morning Edition

Merry Christmas Eve!

Today I am recapping yesterday for this week’s What I Ate Wednesday post. (Thanks Jenn!) The day started off super early (for me) with a 4:55 am alarm. It was my day to work at Sweat and so I made the walk through the substantially quieter city.  Although I was half asleep, the city is really peaceful at that hour.  My meals yesterday were kind of random until later in the day because I don’t like to eat that early in the morning.

Breakfast

A cranberry toasted almond Gluten Free Bar while I manned the desk and folded some towels.

Post Workout Snack

I was able to pop into the 7 am workout, so immediately following that I ate the banana that I had brought with me. So photogenic.

I hadn’t had my daily smoothie since I left so early, so when I got home I whipped one up and got ready to explore the world with Neil.  Explore the world = go to a new grocery store.  This picture is from temporary housing, but same smoothie, twice the size.

Lunch

We walked to Mariano’s with our trusty bag lady cart to transport all the groceries back home.  It is a glorious supermarket and I would put in on par with Wegman’s back in Virginia.  We have planned out some of our meals for the remainder of the week so we had to grab a lot of things.  For lunch I grabbed this Italian chicken breast, quinoa/corn/edamame salad, and asparagus.  It would have been more delicious if it was hot but it was good nonetheless.

I found Perfect Bars when I was in Whole Foods and remembered how much I loved them after getting a bunch of samples at Expo East earlier this year.  I ate one between lunch and dinner and it was glorious.

I also ate a couple almond laceys because they are great and I love chocolate.

Dinner

On the menu last night was stir fry, so Neil whipped up some flank steak and veggies and I had the hardest task of boiling rice noodles.

A meal is not complete without Sriracha.

This was a super quick meal that even gave us leftovers for lunch today!

I am off to buy a cast iron skillet so that I can make Sara’s pizza today.  I showed Neil and now he is obsessed with making it. I hope everyone has a great Christmas Eve!!

Sriracha is always a 10 in my book. 🙂

Love what you’re eating. That stirfry looks amazing, and I definitely need to try Laceys, I keep seeing them around.

Did you make it? I am glad it sparked your interest 🙂

Also, I love Wegmans. Have you ever had their iced sugar cookies? Whenever we have parties at my aunt and uncles house in VA we have them. So good!
