Happy New Year’s Eve! Do you have any fabulous plans for this evening? As the years go on, I don’t really have any desire to leave the comfort of my sweatpants and chai like an old (very pale) Indian lady. Is that bad? It’s certainly comfy and warm which is what I need after walking to Sweat this morning at 5:30 when it was 9 degrees but felt like -8. No bueno.
I worked yesterday and today because Neil and I are headed back to VA this Fri for about 10 days. He has training for work so I am tagging along to visit with some friends and family (and study). His work’s holiday party is next Friday and then we head back to this winter tundra on Saturday. I am super excited to get back to some trail running when I am there!
To recap for What I Ate Wednesday, yesterday started off with a 5:15 am alarm and a walk to work. (Sidenote: I start my shadowing program the Monday that I get back from VA. Look out world!) I can’t eat first thing in the morning when it is that early, so around 6:30 am I grabbed my trusty Gluten Free Bar.
I hopped into the 8:30 workout and finished with an overripe banana.
I headed home around 10 am and made my daily smoothie (old picture).
I also grabbed my last almond butter Perfect Bar and cried a little because I needed to go get more and just remembered right now. It is SO GOOD.
Neil and I drove to Costco to stock up on greens and grabbed some flank steak for an impromptu stir fry lunch. Neil is master of presentation, but don’t let this dainty bowl fool you. I filled it up and then had another, both drenched in Sriracha.
We didn’t eat stir fry until 3:30 pm, so I wasn’t hungry again until much later. By that point it was 8:30 pm, so we settled on egg sandwiches for dinner…also with Sriracha.
I passed out around 10 pm and the day was done!
