Recent Blue Apron Meals + A Giveaway!

Happy Wednesday!

Today I want to share some of my recent Blue Apron meals with you guys since I haven’t talked much about them recently.  If you’ve been reading for awhile then you know that I love them so read on for an awesome experience for first-time customers!

For those of you unfamiliar with Blue Apron, it is a weekly meal delivery service. Each week you receive 2-3 meals (depending on which plan you sign up for) and all of the ingredients are included and portioned out for you.  It makes planning and preparing a breeze and I love the option to skip a week like we had to do the last two weeks when we were out of town.  For more information on Blue Apron, read my review here.

Short Rib Burgers on Pretzel Buns with Hoppy Cheddar Sauce & Roasted Sweet Potato Rounds

This was one of my favorites because I loved every ingredient! That included the pretzel bun which is surprising since I normally hate everything pretzel.

Baked Fontina Pasta w/ Brussels Sprouts and Sage Breadcrumbs

If you love cheese, then this one was for you. It ended up being too much for Neil and I to split and so I ate the rest for lunch for a couple days.

Pan-Seared Steaks w/ Green Peppercorn Sauce & Roasted Fingerling Potatoes

My only issue with this meal was the consistency of the greens, but that’s just because I am weirdo and don’t like my greens wilted.

Brown Butter Spaetzle w/ Celeriac, Apple & Fresh Horseradish

This was so good and now I know how to brown butter! I have been seeing so many recipes using it lately. Basically, Blue Apron makes me a magical chef.

Sumac-Roasted Sweet Potato & Farro Salad w/ Pickled Onions & Hazelnuts

This was actually a meal from my sister’s Blue Apron shipment that she recreated when we were visiting. Along with the recipes you get on a weekly basis, you also have full access to all of their recipes online.

Spring Bucatini Pasta w/ Pea Tips, Asparagus & Mint

Recently we have started getting more Spring options like this one. So far I’m enjoying them!

Pork & Tomatillo Pozole w/ Hominy, Avocao & Radishes

Since the weather has been cool here in Chicago, this was a great dinner the other night. It was like a warm stew and the roasted pepitas were my favorite part!

Pulled Chicken Mole Quesadillas w/ Monterey Jack Cheese & Shredded Cabbage Salad

This was Monday night’s dinner and I was exceptionally pleased with my quesadilla making skills. I was also terrified to make the sauce since it uses chocolate, but it was actually really good! I’m telling you, soon I will rule the world with my cooking prowess.

I realized the other day that I haven’t done a giveaway in FOREVER. Eight months to be precise which is basically forever. For continuing to pay for their weekly service, Blue Apron has provided me with 5 free one-week deliveries to share. I decided who better to share them with than you guys!

The giveaway will last until Sunday 5/17 at midnight.  I will select 5 winners to receive a free week each of Blue Apron meals. If you do not end up winning, you are still eligible to use my code for 2 free meals for first-time customers when signing up! Simply click here!

Note: These free deliveries can only be redeemed by first-time Blue Apron customers, so if you have previously signed up then you won’t qualify for the giveaway.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Note: This post is NOT sponsored by Blue Apron. I simply love their service and was provided with free meals as part of being a paying customer. Just trying to share the love!

Linking up with Erica and Smitha!

Um your recipes look delicious. I didn’t like 2 out of 3 of the recipes they sent me 🙁 but I definitely understand why you get it! It was such a cool concept and you save time and money on dinner. Maybe not money but definitely time and sanity haha

Sounds like the perfect way to get out of my usual mid-week meal rut that often devolves into cereal and smoothies…

I have seen so much around other blogs about Blue Apron. I would LOVE to get a subscription, but it’s pretty expensive for me right now (I’m getting married in August, so I’m on a budget!) But, the dishes look so amazing…including the pastas, steak and burger you showed here. I hope I win the giveaway for 1 free week, as that would be the perfect opportunity to see how/if we’d like BA for perhaps a future subscription (when we aren’t on such a tight budget).

Now that I’m back in school full time again it’s sometimes hard to find the inspiration to plan meals all week. This often leads to less than ideal eating habits. Blue Apron sounds like a great solution!

A Blue Apron subscription would mean that I had to shop less and plan less, and would give me more varied meals.

The idea of mole sauce has always weirded me out because of the chocolate, but I’ve heard it’s really good! I’ll have to give it a try 🙂

I was definitely weirded out and may have eaten 1/4 of the chocolate before adding it to the sauce, but it turned out great!

I love this concept! It’s perfect for someone like my husband who hates looking for all the little ingredients needed for one recipe. My only issue with it is cost. I feel like I do better on my own at the grocery store. But, if I didn’t like to cook – this would be a good solution!

I think you’re prob right, but I haven’t been putting as much effort into making dinners from groceries so it’s either this or we go out an eat and BA is definitely cheaper than that!

I’m super indecisive when it comes to preparing food, especially if I wait until the last minute and don’t have a set plan for a dinner to make after work. Blue Apron could definitely help with this issue!

With Blue Apron, I’d make better meals midweek than popcorn and m&ms!

  23. May 15, 2015 / 7:49 am

This is awesome! Those meals look incredible! I feel like sometimes with fancier meals I am intimidated because I either don’t want to get an ingredient I won’t ever use again, or I don’t feel like I can make that nice of a meal. Blue Apron would definitely change that!
