True, it’s still only fall and I’m quite sure that when the temperatures actually drop I’ll be complaining more, but this weekend did get cold at times. I refuse to wear a jacket yet, so I simply wore three layers and walked around in my denial. Temperatures in the 30s? Not cool.
Saturday had absolutely nothing on the agenda, so Neil and I headed out for a few hours. After our Au Cheval burger last weekend, we decided to try out Kuma’s Too, which has also been recommended to us. The main location, Kuma’s Corner, is a little further away, so we went to the closer location. I settled on the Kuma’s Burger (minus the bacon) and actually couldn’t finish it (who am I??). It was good, but after Au Cheval I think the bar was pretty high.
After the burger, we walked to the enormous Whole Foods near Goose Island. I think all of the salt from lunch got the best of us, as we were both incredibly thirsty and got a delicious juice.
Then I bought an entire case of Gingerade kombucha since I keep craving it everyday and can’t always find it near me.
After carting an entire case of glass bottles home (thanks Neil), we watched movies for the entire rest of the day. It was amazing.
Sunday I had two hours of training and then we headed out again for a few hours. We had brunch, grabbed some groceries, made a pit stop at Bed Bath & Beyond, and headed home. Along the way I decided I wanted to try this magical creation, but was informed they couldn’t make it for me.
I opted for a pumpkin spice latte since I haven’t tasted their new formulation and I am happy to report that it is a big improvement on the old recipe. I doubt I will get it again since I inhaled it in about 5 minutes, but I’m glad I had one for the season.
One thing that I WILL have again is Dimo’s pizza. Neil and I settled in for football and even drove all the way to their Damen location to get this for dinner. We came home, ate 3/4 of it, and watched the end of an incredibly tense Packers game. Thankfully they will continue undefeated!
I had another great, relaxing weekend and am glad we didn’t do anything crazy since this coming week is busy. In addition to teaching and my own training clients, I am covering for a fellow trainer who is out of town all week. How’s your week looking?
