How I Stepped Up My Nighttime Reading Game with Oak Leaf

As you know, I read. A lot. I constantly have a stack of books on my nightstand that I’m always working to get through.

Most of my days are filled with teaching classes, working out, training clients, and working on this blog. I can get wrapped up in tasks during the day, so most of my free time ends up being in the evening or on weekends.

When I was given the opportunity to try out this LED lamp by Oak Leaf, I knew it would find it’s perfect home on my nightstand. My previous lamp was one from Target which, while it served its purpose, left more than a little to be desired. It was dim and I always had to lean way out of bed to turn it off at night.

This lamp is magical. It’s probably the fanciest lamp I’ve ever owned.

What really sold me on this lamp were its features. The arm of the lamp is adjustable (see below) as well as the light itself, rotating 180 degrees in two directions.

There is also a built-in USB port that is able to charge smartphones, tablets, etc. SAY WHAAA?

There are three different lighting modes:

  • warm
  • imitating sunlight
  • cool

You are also able to adjust the brightness by simply pressing the plus or minus button depending on your preference.

All of these features make this lamp perfect for reading in bed. Usually I’m asleep before Neil, but in the rare case that I’m not and want to stay up to read, the numerous settings allow me to set the perfect amount of light for me to read without disturbing him. In fact, now Neil is jealous and wants me to get another one for his side.

I’m sure I don’t need to tell you, but this lamp isn’t exclusively for nightstands and reading in the dark. You can place it on any desk and it will offer the perfect amount of light for what you need. Wherever you put it, it’s an awesome lamp.

I’ll be reading for awhile.

I think your blog caused the lamp to be sold out! 🙂 I have been trying so hard to get into the habit of reading a bit before bed, but it hasn’t happened yet. Any suggestions on how to get started?

Frank Sinatra (and Michael Buble) are my homies.
I love reading in bed, and would love to have one of these…if I’m not reading on my Kindle, I use a bright lamp which doesn’t really help with my circadian rhythms 😉
