Five Things Friday #80

What’s this? Two posts in one day?? When I realized the due date for my CeraVe post fell on a Friday, I knew I would have to do two to make sure to get my Five Things Friday in here.

This has been my first full week back since vacation and it actually felt good to be back in the swing of things. I also don’t have anything on the agenda for this weekend, which probably means movies and relaxing. Neil told me he wants to eat healthy this weekend (?!?!?!), so I may have to sneak away on my own to indulge in all the fine eats here in the city.

I hope you guys had a great week as well and I’m going to wrap it up with some of my favorite things. Tell me some of yours in the comments!

1. Bob’s Red Mill Unflavored Nutritional Booster

You may remember from an older Five Things Friday that I received all four flavors of Nutritional Boosters from Bob’s. The other three were flavored, but lately I have been using this unflavored Protein & Fiber one when I don’t want to mess with the flavor of my smoothies.

Normally, my protein powder is either vanilla or chocolate, so it was cool to just be able to add an unflavored version so that I could concentrate on the flavors of greens, spices, and fruit that I was adding.

2. Old Navy Relaxed Shirts

I hardly ever buy real clothes, and this is no exception. I found these oversized shirts at Old Navy this week and then went back and bought three more the next day. I’ve been wearing them over my workout clothes and they are incredibly soft and flowy. I also love the hi-lo hem which means they cover my butt in the back but you can still see the bottom of whatever tank I have on that day in the front. There’s just something about layers that I love so much. I’m also anticipating throwing them over bathing suits or just wearing them with some shorts on summer days.

I’m not sure how long the sale lasts, but these were all $6 a piece!

3. King Arthur Flour Chai Spice

Last week my order from King Arthur Flour made my list, and this week one more product that shipped separately has made it. You all know how obsessed I am with chai spices, although I can never find one I particularly like because the ratios always seem off (yes, I know I should probably just make my own).

At first whiff, I could definitely tell there was a lot of cardamom in this (not my favorite), but that was soon replaced by clove and cinnamon. I’m thinking about throwing some in my smoothies, but I also need to think about what to bake with this. Thoughts??

4. Feed Feed

I received a notification on Instagram the other day that Vitamix had put two of my photos on Feed Feed, a site that showcases images and videos of foods. You can search by meal or company, and I’m super pumped to be included among some amazing pictures! Tag your photos, friends!

5. Vacation!

As you may remember, I will finally be off of probation at the beginning of May, which means my 5 years of reporting, drug tests, travel requests whenever I leave the state, and not being able to leave the country (aside from my honeymoon), will be OVER. To celebrate, I told Neil I wanted to go to a tropical island and lobster myself in bright sun and beautiful water.

Well, last night we booked it! It’s not a long trip — 5 days — but I can’t wait! We will be headed to Isla Mujeres, a small island off the coast of Cancun, Mexico, in the middle of June. We scored an amazing deal on an apartment to rent out which only came to a little over $300 for the entire time! Who needs a fancy hotel? I’m going to be laying out like a lizard all day anyway.

Take me with you. That is awesome you got featured in FeedFeed! My pictures are crap, but you have put so much into developing your photography that it is totally deserved. I do miss some of the more rough and tumble photos, but I will self soothe in the corner πŸ˜€

So jealous of your vacay! I totally agree with your mindset – we rarely pay for nice rooms, because what’s the point of vacation if you’ll be inside all day?

I forgot about KAF until recently. My mom always had stuff from them when I was growing up!

I really want to try that unflavored protein powder I usually go with vanilla or a fruity flavor I think this would be great for smoothies.

So excited for you for both the Feed Feed mentions and the island vacay! You totally deserve it, lady!

And, psh, eat healthy this weekend? Who does that!?

Use the chai spice in blondies or something. Sugar cookies? Might be good on sweet potatoes or chickpeas too.

Congratulations on the trip!! My husband and I just recently went on a cruise that did two stops in Mexico and Mexico was by far my favorite of all the ports. Such beautiful beaches and the water is insanely beautiful! πŸ™‚
