Five Things Friday #110

Happy Friday friends!

This week has been awesome and I’m looking forward to this weekend when I have NOTHING planned. Oh glorious day(s). I’m also pretty pumped about daylight savings time on Sunday. I’ll try and actually do something so I can share it with you on Monday, but it might just involve a lot of food.

Let’s celebrate the weekend with some of my favorite things this week!

1. Kashi Sweet Potato Sunshine

I first had this cereal a couple years ago at either a conference or Expo East, but it’s super simple and also delicious. The ingredients are few in number (awesome) and I love mixing it with some Purely Elizabeth granola for a night time snack. I bought the box this week and it’s already gone. 🙁

2. Black Mirror

I already talked pretty extensively about this show in Monday’s post, but I’m still loving it. It’s just taking me some time to get through since I don’t want to emotionally overload myself. Also, it’s British so in the first episode we had to turn on the subtitles because they were talking way too fast and we’ve just left them on since then. HA.

3. Glo Airbrush Tan

I’ve been to a number of different spray tan places in the city and Glo is by far the best one I’ve been to. It’s been more than a week and I still have some tan. It’s also not wearing off in splotches or anything and it makes me want to go there all the time. I got it for my photoshoot last weekend and I will definitely be going back. Allison is the best and if you go for the first time your tan is only $35, which is also much cheaper than anywhere else I’ve been!

4. Dr. Bronner’s Almond Soap

I’ve used this off and on since college. I don’t know why I never buy more when I’m done with it — maybe it’s because I like to switch things up now and then? This bottle does take a long time to get through. I love the almond scent and as you can see the ingredients are all basic and natural. I’ll be working through this bad boy for the next couple months.

5. Cubs

I’m really not a sports fan. I like the Packers, but not enough to drop everything I’m doing and watch them religiously. Wednesday night the Cubs won the World Series for the first time since 1908. We started watching the game about halfway through and it was AMAZING. Everything that makes for an epic game was there — tied up by the end, going into extra innings, a rain delay, you name it, it was there. I found myself getting stressed out and nervous about something I don’t even really care about that much.

If I lived anywhere else but Chicago, it might not have meant as much. This city has been waiting for this win FOREVER and you could just feel it in the air in the weeks leading up to that final game. It stretched on until midnight, but we finally won it by one point and the city went NUTS. Streets were shut down, everyone on the road was honking, and the energy outside was contagious. It was really cool to be part of something so historic and to know that even though many of us are strangers in the city, that night we were all brought together by that win.

You know I watched. I will admit that I was asleep during the middle part because I knew I’d be a nervous wreck otherwise. It was hard enough watching the last hour of it. So happy for our city and the team!
I LOVE that cereal. I actually can’t buy it (unless it is on sale, and then obvi) because I will demolish it. I think we first had it at Blogfest/Ideafest last year.

That’s the best – making things at home. I have a Toddy we got for our wedding that I just forgot about until right now

Cubs yay! Also I love the almond soap smell. My boyfriend uses the peppermint one which is cool, but I’m always a fan of switching up scents of things. I’ve always been interested in trying a little non-orangey spray tan for something since I’m really pale, especially my face!
