Happy Monday friends!
This weekend was a mix of trying to overcome my sickness and spending time with family. I had originally planned on going to my regular Saturday workout at BTY Training Lab, but my body was not having it. I laid on the couch, took a nap almost immediately after waking up, and just chilled out. I had to cancel everything on my schedule on Friday as well — whatever I had was not messing around.
Neil’s brother’s family was in town, so we wanted to make sure we saw them. We headed to the suburbs in the afternoon and I came prepared with a box of tissues, more medicine, and my own dinner so that I wouldn’t go completely off the rails on this challenge.
Whenever we get together, there’s sometimes henna.
But always cards.
They’re also usually the cards we gave out as party favors from our wedding. HA.
I tried to keep my distance so I didn’t infect everyone. You can see me carefully cradling my tissues and thankfully this picture is blurry so you can’t see how raw my nose is.
We ended up staying until almost eleven catching up before heading home and passing out.
Sunday they came downtown and we took them to Honey Butter Fried Chicken. The weather was beautiful and the traffic was insane, but it was worth it.

We headed home and played group Sporcle on the TV, then just relaxed after they left to head back. That sandwich really filled me up and somehow I ended up under my calorie max for the day, but my ratios were all screwed. One day out of 14 that I’ve eaten something like this — not too shabby.
I only have a three day week this week because Thursday I’m heading to MD for the IDEA Personal Trainer Institute East. I’m staying with my friend Jess and see some family while I’m there as well. I’ll be sure to come back with all kinds of knowledge and continuing education credits to renew my certification this year. Stay tuned!
I’m feeling almost back to normal and if all goes well I will be heading to my first workout in a couple days. Let me know how your weekend was!
