Five days down on my fitness challenge and I’m feeling pretty good. My eating has been on point, I’ll get to five workouts this week after the one tomorrow, and not eating as much sugar means that I can stay up from 5:30 am to 10 pm a little easier.
All that’s on the agenda for this weekend is that workout, so I’m super happy. Actually, I think Neil might force me to do my taxes which I am not happy about, but I guess it’s better to get them over with now. Since there’s no football on Sunday anymore, we may also go head to our favorite 10 am movie time — the possibilities are endless! There are so many good movies out right now that I don’t know which one to see first. What are your suggestions?
To wrap up the work week, here’s a recap of my favorite things!
1. Cooking at home
Ever since I started this challenge, I’ve made all my meals at home (aside from the leftover poke monstrosity from the weekend). Since we need to track everything, I’ve been too lazy to input things from eating out. I’ve gotten back to super basic, simple meals that really don’t take that long to make.
I ate out a lot because I get home late and always feel like I don’t have time to make anything. The other night I had ground turkey and these sweet potato noodles and it took me no time at all. Don’t worry, I still had some snacks afterwards.
I’m interested to see our food spending at the end of this month because I have a feeling it’s about to go way down.
2. Zim’s Crack Creme
I was sent samples of Zim’s this week and I wanted it mainly for Neil to try on some super dry skin he has. I was sent their daytime formula and the original, which is more of an oil. Once I got past the strong smell, it has been working really well for both of us. I always put lotion on my feet after I shower and they feel softer than they normally do after that routine.
3. WordPress Update
If you’re not a blogger, this probably won’t mean anything to you, but this week WordPress rolled out a new version. I always get scared with big updates that my site will implode and be lost forever in internet land, but thankfully that didn’t happen.
Some of the things I like are that I can now easily change the size of my headings within the editor. Before, I had to go and manually add code into the text view to increase or decrease the size of my font. Also, when I upload images, they are automatically centered, another thing I used to have to manually do. Those are just a couple of the things I didn’t realize were taking away time until they became more efficient, but I’m excited to play around and find more.
4. Free2b Sunflower Cups
I had my first one of these in a subscription service for healthy snacks. I really liked it even though normally I’m not a big fan of sunflower butter. These cups are dairy, nut, gluten, and soy-free, which makes them amazing for people with allergies.
I was sent a couple more flavors and now I’m on the hunt to find them in the store.
5. Harry & David Pears
OMG. I got six of these pears in an Harry & David gift basket last week and they are without a doubt the best pears I have ever had. I’ve heard this from a few other people, so it seems like this is a known thing in the world of gift baskets.
If you had to imagine the best pear ever — so flavorful and juicy that it can’t be from this world — this is that pear. I literally might buy a box of nine and squirrel them away from Neil. I know it’s not the best picture since it’s towards the end of its ripeness, but omg please go buy these pears now.
That’s all I’ve got for this week — let me know what you’re loving in the comments!
