Welcome to the end of the week!
I’ve got a relatively full day today, then I’m headed out tonight to NYC for a bridal shower. I’m only there until Sunday, so I don’t know how much activity I’ll be getting into, but I’ll be sure to share about it on Instagram. I’m most excited about spending time drinking tea and reading books like an old lady.
This week has been better than last week in terms of feeling overwhelmed. I had slightly fewer clients and they were more spread out throughout the days instead of being packed into Monday and Wednesday as they typically are. I have another short week next week as I head out to the Everything Food Conference on Thursday, so let’s see what that brings when I have three days to get everything done. 🙂
To wrap it up this week, here are some of the things I’ve been loving over the past several days.
1. MyoBuddy Massager
Full disclosure — I was asked if I wanted to try this MyoBuddy massager and I’m glad that I said yes. It was either this brand or a similar one that I tried out last summer at Blogfest during the Expo, but I remember liking it and being confused by it all at the same time.
I was confused simply because it looks like something you would buff your car with, but when I was able to use it I realized it was a magical machine. It’s a massager that vibrates at three different speeds in order to improve circulation, ease sore muscles, and even warm up those muscles before working out. I’ve used it on Neil and vice versa and it feels great.
My only word of caution is to make sure you either read the manual or watch the extensive video library they have on their site to make sure you’re using it correctly. Different vibration levels are meant for different things and you don’t want to put too much pressure on an area when you should really only be gently passing over it. Overall, I like it and am trying to incorporate it more into my recovery routine!
2. Fast & Free Crop from Lululemon
I bought these pants last weekend because I had a gift card — aren’t those the best? I don’t know how I held onto it for so long. I feel like because I rarely buy things full price at Lulu, I need to make sure that whatever I’m getting is THE PERFECT THING.
Since Jess and Ashley also both had gift cards, I took it as a sign and scoped out some new pants. These Fast & Free Crops are super soft, light, and don’t have a seam at the bottom. I bought them on Thursday and when I showed up to a workout on Saturday, three of my friends also had them. I’ll take that as a sign that I bought the right pair.
3. Morning and Night Oils from Scratch Goods
I feel like something from Scratch Goods keeps making it on my list every week. After our epic mask party in the hotel, I started using their morning and evening oils more regularly and I really like them.
The morning oil smells fresh and lemony and the evening one has some soothing lavender essence in it. To see everything they have, you can check out their store here. (They are in the process of moving locations, so some of their inventory is limited for the time being).
So I’m like six years late to this, but Neil and I started watching Shameless this week after numerous recommendations. It’s about a single, alcoholic father trying to raise six children and the dysfunction that results from it.
Parts of it can be tough to watch given my background, but I find myself feeling for many of the characters and hoping for the best. It’s an endearing and heartbreaking show at the same time — with laughter mixed in there too. Now we just have to catch up on the seven seasons that are out. HA.
Guys, I’ve never had allergies until this year. I don’t know what is going on, but I know that my nose, sinuses, and right ear are not happy about it.
I took some Sudafed which helped some, but since I’m going on somewhere around five days now of the same symptoms, I figured it was time to take it up a notch. I stopped by Walgreens to try some Flonase (over the counter now since my days in the pharmacy!), so we will see how it goes. It’s only day two and it’s supposed to take a couple days to start working, but I’m going to have faith that this little bottle will help me breathe again. Anyone else deal with allergies??
That’s all I’ve got for you — let me know what your weekend plans are in the comments and also what you’re loving this week!
