Five Things Friday #139
Happy Friday friends!
This week has been a great one — a good balance of all my jobs so that I didn’t feel like a chicken with its head cut off. I had the opportunity to be a guest on Davida’s podcast That’s So Maven, which garnered a lot of support around the topic of mental health and how medication can be an asset in a healthy living world that preaches a lot of natural remedies and solutions. Sometimes you need both!
This weekend is low key except for my decision to do an insane workout tomorrow morning in honor of memorial day. Make sure to follow along on my Instagram stories to see if I survive. 🙂
To kick off the weekend, here are some of my favorite things this week!

1. TOMS Drizzle Grey Metallic Woven Women’s Avalon Slip-Ons
This is the power of influencer marketing. HA. I saw a friend post these on her IG stories and I immediately sent her a message asking which ones they were and bought them that day.
I’ve never owned a pair of TOMS and I don’t know what it was about these ones, but I loved them. They’re also really comfortable and they’re gray which is a winning combo in my opinion. If you’re in the market for a new pair of casual shoes, I definitely recommend these ones. P.S. They’re also on sale right now!
2. Fourth & Heart
I’ve been too lazy to make my own ghee lately or maybe I’ve just been short on time, but when Fourth & Heart reached out to try some of their products, I jumped on the chance. I had been wanting to try out their new ghee spray since it would be easier to use than spooning some onto the pan. That and I would be less likely to put way too much in which makes delicious eggs but isn’t all that necessary. 🙂
I’ve had their plain flavor and I have yet to sample these garlic and vanilla bean ones. I’m thinking some butter coffee may be in my future (not with the garlic).
If you want to make your own at home (seriously, it’s super easy), you can follow my recipe here.
3. Molecule 01
My friend told me about Molecule 01, a perfume that she uses regularly. I haven’t worn perfume in years (but still have several stockpiled in the bathroom), but this one is light, subtle, and doesn’t give me a headache after having it on all day.
The story behind this perfume is also really interesting in that it smells different on each person who wears it. You can read more about it here rather than me typing you a novel. I didn’t want to wait, so I went to the store and bought it, but a wiser choice would have been to get it on Amazon where it was about $20 cheaper. You can find it here.
4. The GFB Bites
I’ve written about The Gluten Free Bar (GFB) since the early days of the blog, and since then they’ve come out with with a smaller, bite size version. I got the PB & J flavor the other day in the mail and went through it almost immediately. I love the consistency and only wish there were more bites in the bag. 🙂
Check IG in a couple weeks for a special surprise for you as well!
5. Wellness Workshop
I’ve had wellness workshops on my master list of grand ideas for awhile and it’s finally time to bring them to fruition!
I’ll be holding my first one at the Ascend studio in River North. It will be 90 min, with the first 30 being yoga, the next 30-45 min a wellness discussion on a specific topic (TBD), and the remaining time for enjoying healthy snacks and grabbing some SWAG BAGS. There’s a $10 admission fee and a cap of 25 attendees, so space is limited!
If you’re in Chicago and want to come, the sign up link is here!
That’s all for this week guys — enjoy your long weekend!
