I can’t believe another month has gone by!
June has come and gone and I’d say it’s finally summer here in Chicago. I’m looking forward to July for a couple reasons — 1) our wedding anniversary and 2) my birthday. I’m planning on getting an actual camera that I can’t wait to play with and get some better pictures for the blog.
Before I get too ahead of myself though, let’s take a look back at what June brought.
We flew to New Jersey to attend Neil’s cousin’s wedding. It was an epic several-day event that involved multiple outfits, sparkles, and more food than I could possibly eat.
We did a dance that you can watch here if you haven’t seen already. I want to do them all the time now. HA.
Bought a second condo
We closed on a larger condo!
I’ve been a little detached from it only because we don’t have plans to move here for a couple years. Right now we are renting it out until we decide that it’s time to MOVE ON UP.
Early in the month we went on an epic rearranging spree and moved around a lot of furniture in the living room. My desk is closer to the window and we cleared up a lot of space. Now we just need someone to buy our dining room table and chairs…
I mentioned this last week, but Neil and I took some photos together that I think I’m going to get printed and either put in frames or on the wall. 🙂
Started a business
I started a business for both the blog and my personal training because I’ve gotten to a point where I need to figure out how to handle my different streams of income.
I hired an accountant who advised me on what I should do and now I’m working on separating everything into two main income streams. Now I just need to take care of all the fun things that go along with it like opening new bank accounts and other administrative tasks. YAY adulthood!
Erin’s Inside Job Wellness Workshop
Hosting workshops has been on my list of things to do for over a year and this year it finally came to fruition!
I hosted my first workshop last month and it went incredibly well. What I wanted out of the event was something a little different from the typical workout and swag bag events that I’ve been to.
I decided that since this blog focuses a lot on different aspects of health and wellness, I wanted to have an active component, swag bags, AND a discussion of a different wellness topic for each workshop. For the first one I decided to focus on our relationship with food and the response was so great.
We started with 30 minutes of Forrest Yoga to get our bodies moving and minds relaxed, then the rest of the 90 minutes was spent sharing our experiences and creating a community where we can build each other up instead of bringing each other down. It was amazing. I was worried that people wouldn’t share, but several people opened up and responded to each other in wonderfully supportive ways.
The next one is scheduled for 7/27 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at Ascend Studio in River North. If you’re interested in coming, you can find tickets here!
