Five Things Friday #171

Aaaand we’re back!

If you were following along on social media at all, you know that Tuesday my site was down for about 12 hours. Long story short I was hogging too much space on the shared server because of some wonky code, so I had to fiddle around with it longer than I wanted to since there was a secondary issue with the new version of WordPress. It finally got straightened out, but by that time it was evening and I didn’t have the mental energy to write Wednesday’s post. So here we are!

This weekend is pretty light, although I’m planning to get ahead of some work since next week we are heading to LA to visit Neil’s brother’s family for a few days. I’m planning on new donuts places to try and we are staying a little longer than normal, so if you guys have any recommendations, let me know in the comments!

To kick off the weekend, here’s what I’m loving this week (hint: it’s not my web hosting). πŸ™‚

1. New Phone Case

Since I got a new phone recently, I needed a new case since the old one wouldn’t fit. Previously, I had made my own through a site called Case Station using one of my images and I did the same thing this time. I love how you can customize it to whatever you want and this time around I chose donuts because…duh.

The cases have been durable too; I dropped my phone a couple of times last year and it never broke at all. I got a little thicker one this time since this phone is basically the cost of a computer and I want to make sure it stays intact!

2. Kanzi Apples

When I went to Trader Joe’s the other day, they were all out of my beloved Jazz apples. These Kanzi apples rang a bell and I think that I liked them before and I was RIGHT. They are so flavorful and tangy and are right up there with Jazz apples for me. Do it.

3. All Chai’d Up Tea

I got this tea flavor from my monthly tea subscription box (Sips By). I love anything chai, but only if the spice ratios are the way I like them. I sound really unmangeable right now.

This one from The Chai Box is delicious and I’ve added it to my chai flavor rotation which I’m going through pretty quickly in this weather.

If you’re interested in reading more about Sips By, you can read my post here and use the code FORERIN for 50% off your first box!

4. Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray

I got this Dry Texturizing Spray for Christmas from Neil (at the suggestion of a beauty-knowledgeable friend) and I have been using it after I style my hair. I spray it all over while lifting up my roots in order to give it a little more volume and texture. It’s been great so far!

5. Inside The American Mob

I started this Nat Geo documentary about the mob the other night while Neil was out of town. You can find it on Netflix and it’s a mix of interviews with former mob members and law enforcement officials plus news footage from actual events. I always find crime stories fascinating, and even more so when they’re true. It’s six 45-min episodes if you’re in the mood for some mob action.

That’s all I have for this week — see you on Monday!

Ooh Kanzi, sounds tasty. I typically go for Honeycrisp because I don’t know enough about apple varieties.
