Five Things Friday #177

Hi guys! Happy Friday!

I’m currently back on the East coast attending the IDEA Personal Trainer Institute East. I’ll be here until Monday because I also made sure to pencil in some extra time with my friend Jess who lives in Charlottesville. I’m going to be playing with her dog, food exploring, and just hanging out. It’s going to be GLORIOUS.

The conference is from today until Sunday, so I’ll be learning more fitness-related things to come back to you with and it will keep my certification current. You can follow along all weekend if you follow me on Instagram and watch my stories. It’s going to be a party. 🙂

To wrap up the week, here are some of my favorite things from it!

1. Succulents at Trader Joe’s

Ok, so I know I’ve had TJs plants on these posts somewhere around three times in the last month, but they just got new succulents in and of course I bought one immediately. The pot is too cute!

In case you’re counting, I now own 3 plants which is two more plants than I’ve ever owned in my adult life, so let’s see how this goes.

2. Kettle & Fire Bone Broths

These bone broths from Kettle & Fire came in super handy when I was dealing with my cold the past week or so. I drank them just like I would drink tea in order to help promote a quicker recovery and they were a nice, warm drink a couple of times a week.

If you’ve read my post about collagen, these provide the same benefits and are a good way to get in some extra nutrients. You don’t have to drink it straight if the thought weirds you out and they come with helpful recipes you can make in order to get all the benefits. To read more about them, head to their website here.

3. Luna Protein Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bars

I know this has made a FTF post in the past, but I hadn’t had them again until recently when I saw them in the store and remembered how much I liked them. I do that with foods all the time — go hardcore until I need to take a break. Anyone else?

These are a good, small size and have 12 grams of protein in each one. They’re great to take around with me as I’m out training or running around.

4. This Is Us

UGH.

Guys, I finally started watching This Is Us with Neil. I had vowed that I would never watch it because sometimes I like to run and hide from emotional things, but when Neil told me that he was going to start watching it I told him I had to watch it too. I know it’s a great show based on the reviews, and if he’s going to watch it, I suppose I can try it as well. Ha.

We are 9 episodes into the first season and everyone is right — it’s good. It’s not as emotionally devastating as I was expecting, although I have half a season plus this second one to go, so I could be wrong. It’s a really good look at healthy and unhealthy relationships and always raises points of conversation for Neil and I. If you haven’t seen it, I’d definitely recommend.

5. Pogi’s Grooming Wipes

We got these wipes for Donut because Neil likes to do research on the computer and they got good reviews. At first I was skeptical as to why we needed wipes, but they have come in super handy in between her baths, which she is not too big of a fan of.

For a dog who tries to bite everything in sight, she’s actually great with these and just stands there as we give her a quick rub down. We use them when she gets home from daycare and smells like a little puppy and I just used them the other day after we came home from the beach. They’re really useful!

That’s it guys — check back on Monday for a new post and have a great weekend!

This is Us is currently the BEST show on TV, hand’s-down. The dialogue is stellar & REAL, & the issues the show confronts are one’s that are prevalent in the “real world” today.
As for that “not as emotionally devastating as I thought” thing, stay tuned!! LOL

The TJ succulents are just awesome, I agree.
Also, can you imagine I haven’t watched This Is Us yet?
