Hello and happy Friday!
How has this week treated you? I’m doing alright over here — Donut finished up the last of her worms medicine, so she will get rechecked in 4-6 weeks to make sure those are all out of her system. Now to just teach her to stop eating dog poop…
Neil and I are sitting down this weekend to plan everything for Italy which is in less than two weeks (!!). We are going to Rome, Florence, and Venice, so if there are any must-dos, let me know in the comments! Other than that it’s a slow weekend — my favorite.
Here are some of the things I’ve been loving this past week and feel free to let me know some of yours below!

1. XO Marshmallow
I’ve shared a couple times on here about XO Marshmallow — a Chicago-based business specializing in, you guessed it, marshmallows. They’ve had a shop open for awhile now, but it’s a little out of the way for me to get to and I just need to make time to go.
A client got me some as a gift and it reminded me how awesome these ladies are and how they are killing it in the marshmallow game. They’ve gotten tons of press and the shop is adorable if you’re in the area. You don’t have to be though — XO Marshmallow ships in the U.S. and you can order tons of products on their site.
2. Kick @55 class with Reside Living
This month I attended a bootcamp-style class at Kick @55 which was hosted by Reside Living. Since I’ve been doing mainly Crossfit, the hour of circuits and tabata moves with no dedicated rest really challenged me. It was a great workout and was held in what I’d describe as a coworking space for fitness — one location with four different studios inside. Definitely worth checking out.
A big thanks to Reside Living for having me at the class and if you’re in the market for an apartment in Chicago, they’re the way to go!
3. Leather Honey
As you may know from Instagram stories, we have a large leather couch. We also have a dog who we let run on said leather couch. While it may not be the wisest decision, we like sitting with her so we have to be prepared for some additional wear and tear of the leather.
This week I got this leather conditioner from Amazon that came highly rated. While Donut was at daycare I conditioned the whole couch and it looks way better than it had been. It’s not the most exciting item on this week’s list, but if you have a leather couch and want to keep it fresh, this may be a good option for you!
4. Feuille de Lavande candle by Diptyque
I mentioned around Christmas that I was trying to invest in more quality candles, but I don’t think I shared this scent with you. Honestly, the couple times I lit it I couldn’t smell much and put it back on the shelf. Yesterday, as I was cleaning the house, I decided to open the windows to let some of the stale air out since it was a warmer day (read: 45 degrees HA). I also wanted to light a candle, but didn’t want any powerful scents or fall/winter ones that I seem to have a million of.
I lit this candle and set it by the open window. It smells clean and fresh — perfect for the approaching spring. It reminds me of herbs and flowers, but is more spicy than it is floral. I’d love to have more Diptyque candles, but I also don’t want to break the bank so I’ll stick to this one for now.
5. Masala Sauce from Trader Joe’s
I could have sworn that I shared about this, but then couldn’t find any mention of it, so here we are. A couple months ago Neil and I wanted Indian food, but it was snowing and the good Indian food here is a drive away. We went to TJ’s and grabbed some naan and this masala sauce to cook with chicken thighs because I NEEDED butter chicken.
The sauce is good, but it won’t make butter chicken. It tastes sharper and a bit more onion-y, which is still good, but not what I wanted that night. After a few additions (butter, heavy cream, and sugar to taste), we had recreated the most magical butter chicken. It was so. good. Now I have a jar in stock at all times because you never know when the craving will strike.
Welp, that’s it for this week — make sure to check back on Monday for more!
