Five Things Friday #188

Happy Friday friends!

This week has been great because it was shorter given the holiday on Monday. I took the day off from posting and just watched movies with Neil all day. It was perfect.

This weekend, and actually much of June, there’s not much on our calendar. I’m going to try and get out to enjoy the sunshine this weekend, but aside from that there are no real plans. Perfect.

To kick it off, here are some of the things I’ve been loving this week (#1!!!!).

1. Tiny Tate’s Cookies

GUYS. You know my love for Tate’s chocolate chip cookies, but how I also tend to eat the entire bag in one day. A long time ago I found these bite-sized versions and when I realized how much I loved them, they no longer had them in the store. I kept checking other stores, but to no avail.

This week I went to my local store and LO AND BEHOLD the tiny sized ones were there again. They’re miniature AND in a mini bag so I can curb my voracious appetite for them…unless I buy four bags at once (which I did).

2. Smucker’s Orchard’s Finest Preserves

You also know my love for tart cherry jelly, and I initially started testing out different brands because the regular Smucker’s one I used to buy had high fructose corn syrup as an ingredient and I knew that wasn’t really necessary. I had found a store brand one I liked at a different local grocery store, but this week I ran out and wasn’t going to be near that one at all.

I checked the aisles in the same one I found the cookies in and saw this Orchard’s Finest version which boasts only clean ingredients. I’m trying it out this morning, and if it’s anything like the original, I’m sure I will love it.

3. CLIF Bar

I received several of CLIF Bar’s new bars and granola flavors this week and I am slowly working my way through them. All the sweet and salty varieties are really good, and I have yet to try the fruit smoothie filled ones. I haven’t been a huge CLIF bar person over the years, but the few I’ve had this time have been good and I’d consider buying them to add to my stock of bars.

4. Hardpressed

I shared about Hardpressed in this post from last week, and wanted to include it this week because I just started up again once a week. The VERY first time I went — 1000+ days ago — I was not used to strength training in that way and spent 15 minutes lying down in the bathroom so I wouldn’t faint.

I was so nervous to go back again, but I got through the 30 min session perfectly fine (tired but fine) and was able to walk out with no problems. Although I already attend BTY Training Lab 5-6 days a week and there’s a lot of strength training involved, this will focus on accessory muscles and lifts that will help complement that regimen. I’ll keep you updated on my progress as I go along!

5. National Donut Day

So today is National Donut Day and I’m starting it off with a donut-themed workout at Barry’s Bootcamp. You also know my love for donuts, so I thought I would just share a picture of some plus a picture of my favorite Donut. 🙂 Enjoy the day everyone!
