Five Things Friday #198
Happy Friday friends!
Sorry for the disappearance of these Friday posts for the past two weeks; I felt like I had a lot of things come up and wasn’t doing my best with time management. I was also feeling a little burnt out trying to come up with them, so when I didn’t feel the inspiration hit, I decided to take a brief hiatus.
WELL I’M BACK and here to share with you some of the things I’ve been loving since the last Friday post. Make sure to let me know some of yours in the comments; I’m always on the lookout for new things to love!
1. The Candle Lab
One of my favorite parts of our mini trip to Cincinnati was my visit to The Candle Lab. As you know, I’m a little candle obsessed and when I saw that I was able to create my own scented candle at The Candle Lab, I knew I had to put it on my to-do list.
They have around 120 different scents to choose from and you can pick up to three for your own candle. You can also buy any one of the single scent candles found on the shelves, as I did when I found an “Old Books” scent. YES.
You mix your chosen scents in the ratio you feel is best, stopping to smell along the way to achieve the perfect candle. You choose your own vessel option, which can also include reed diffusers, soaps, and scrubs. After pouring and mixing, your candle has to set for about an hour and a half, so you can either explore the nearby shops or just come back later to pick it up. It looks like there are only limited stores, but if you’re not near one then you can also shop online!
2. COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch
A friend gave me these patches and told me that they were a game changer. They’re really great at helping speed up the recovery from whiteheads or pimples that may be on the verge of popping. Cystic acne or redness won’t really be affected by these patches. Their main purpose is to draw out fluid from the pimples and it’s best to put them on overnight on clean, dry skin. You can tell from the 3000+ Amazon reviews that these are LEGIT.
Sorry for all the gross skin talk, but you know this is sweet.
3. Four Sigmatic Superfood Blends
Last week, when I attended my friend Ashley’s event with Hello Wellness, we used this Superfood Blend in our recipes. I have shared their mushroom coffee with you on here, but I hadn’t seen this mushroom blend until that night.
To be completely honest, I haven’t had it on its own, so I’m not sure how palatable it is, but it’s a good addition to smoothies where it’s not the only taste.
4. Ronzoni Super Greens Pasta
At first I thought that this was pasta made only with vegetables, but upon closer inspection I realized it’s just regular pasta fortified with vegetables. That doesn’t stop me from liking it though and I’ve been using it as a base for chicken and seafood the past couple weeks. I’m not the greatest at making sure to eat enough veggies in the day, so every little bit helps for me!
5. Studio Three classes
You guys know that I do some freelance work with Reside Living, a local apartment management company here in Chicago. I just found out that they offer a free Studio Three class every Wednesday morning at their State & Chestnut location, which is a GREAT perk if you guys live in the city and know about Studio Three. Their classes are just the best.
If you’re in the market for an apartment in the city, Reside does an amazing job with their athletics program and with their residents overall. Highly recommend!
