Five Things Friday

Happy Friday!

Today is the day that I would have posted what goodies I got from my food pen pal, but unfortunately I haven’t received her package in time.  I know it is on the way, so look for a post about it next week.  Thankfully the linkup is open for a few more days!

In lieu of writing about a box full of food goodies, I will only write about some food goodies.  Here are five things that I am loving right now:

1. Kombucha

My friend Tayler got me drinking this fermented tea and now I end up having one everyday.  Kombucha is touted as being able to detoxify the body, aid in digestion and gut health, improve your immune system, etc.  I typically only drink water all the time, but made the exception for this delightfully fizzy drink.  Also I bought a case because I go hard.


2. Kabocha Squash & Brussel Sprouts

I know that this squash has a similar name to the aforementioned kombucha, but they are definitely different.  I suppose the only similarity is the frequency of which I ingest them both.  I have been craving squash and brussel sprouts like crazy, so naturally I buy a huge amount and roast them so that I can have good snacks at work (or breakfast, or lunch, I don’t have a problem!).

3. This Hat

I broke this out this winter and it’s been the first time in some years that I have actually worn it.  It is great for keeping heat in and for looking like an authentic Russian. Maybe.


4. L’Occitane Lotion

I had been searching for a subtle new scent for awhile. I didn’t want to smell like Bath and Body Works anymore, but was unable to find something that was light enough.  I walked into L’Occitane a couple weeks ago and realized I had never been in that store in my life! I found this lotion and loved it!


5. Blogging Opportunities

I got involved with blogging because I wanted to share my story and help others.  There were also selfish motivations because I wanted a therapeutic way to work out feelings, thoughts, etc since I tend to be a pretty introverted person.  Starting this blog has introduced me to some wonderful people and has granted me some great opportunities.  Just this week, I was accepted as a Sweat Pink Ambassador and have signed up to attend FitBloggin, an annual fitness and blogging (go figure) convention.  I am so excited!  I am looking forward to everything that is to come on this adventure and want to thank everyone who is a part of it with me!

  1. Yay for new opportunities (and new blog friends)! I love how welcoming the blogging community is, and how much fun it is to meet new people who have the same interests and passions as you do!

    Also, I’ve actually never tried kombucha. For some reason, it kind of scares me. I clearly need to get on board this train!
