Five Things Friday #13

It’s Friday!

I am pretty pumped for this weekend because tomorrow I will head to Baltimore to check out Expo East and I am really excited to meet up with new people and grab some swag.  I have been wanting to go since last year when I first learned about it.  Check back Monday for both the recap and the winner of my PRO Compression giveaway (ENDS AT MIDNIGHT TONIGHT!!).  If you haven’t entered yet, click here to do so.

Let’s kick off Friday with some things I am loving this week:

1. Running in the USA

So I ran my first half marathon last weekend. (I’m sure you had NO IDEA).  After I finished, I wanted to run more.  As it turns out, Chelsea at Chelsea Eats Treats published this post right after that and I learned about the site Running in the USA.  When looking up more races to run, I was doing random Google searches which took up a lot of my time.  This site is an inventory of all different race distances across the country and the best part about it for me is the visual representation.  I work really well with visuals, so seeing where the races are and being able to hover over the pins to see the dates made it really easy.

I especially love it because my friend Carly and I have decided that if/when I move we want to travel to different destinations to catch up and also run races at the same time. This site makes it really easy to do that!


2. Love Grown Foods Oats w/ Chia

I received this gluten free oatmeal from Lindsay at The Lean Green Bean when we were Foodie Pen Pals one month and I have just recently gotten around to eating it.  It is full of awesome ingredients like chia, amaranth, quinoa, nuts, and seeds.  It is incredibly hearty and I have been flavoring it with either sucanant or maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, and some dried plums.  This has been my dinner the past two nights and it is great.  Before I ate scrambled eggs and mushrooms everyday for breakfast, I used to have oatmeal with pumpkin pie spice.  Throwback.




3. Lifestyle Accountability Show Podcast

I looked back over my past posts and I think I completely forgot to talk about being featured on the Lifestyle Accountability Show! 4. Harry Potter

This may seem random, but Neil has not seen the Harry Potter movies and so we have been marathoning them since last weekend.  I forgot how much I loved them (and the books!), so they have definitely been a favorite this week.  LOOK AT THAT BABY.



5. Half Marathons

I can’t promise that this will be the last time I will talk about my race, but it was definitely one of my favorite things of the week since my last FTF.  I can’t wait to do more and cover myself in more swag.  How many times can I use the word swag in this post?


I wanted to thank everyone for the kind words after yesterday’s post.  There are definitely a lot of hypotheticals, but I know as long as we keep doing the work and taking things as they come, it’ll all work out!!

  1. I got a new bone this week – always exciting. I also got to chase a few squirrels. I think if I practice on my running, maybe one day I will be able to catch one.
