Go Blog Social + Halloween Weekend - Erin's Inside Job

Go Blog Social + Halloween Weekend

Welcome to November friends! Can you believe it’s already almost the end of the year? Crazy.

Before we get into what happened over the weekend, don’t forget about the Mighty Nut powdered peanut butter giveaway that ends this Wednesday at midnight! If you haven’t entered already, head over to this post to get your name in the running. If you have, head over there anyway since there are some entry options that can be used more than once!

This weekend I actually did more than eat my weight in food and sit on the couch. It may be hard to believe, but Saturday morning I woke up early so that I could shower and wear my hair down. I can’t remember how many weeks it’s been since I actually blow dryed it. #fitnesslife

Susie picked me up and we drove over to City View Lofts for the Go Blog Social conference that started bright and early at 8:30 am. There we met up with Beth and quickly snagged a table near the front.

We had a full schedule from 8:30am to 5:00 pm, so after the initial check in and breakfast snacks, we settled in for an information-packed day.

We listened to presentations ranging from growing your Instagram following to the actual business side of blogging and building what you love into a living.

We grabbed lunch and settled in for the last three sessions of the day.

We were gifted so many awesome products and discounts, which, along with all of the invaluable information, made heading out in a rainy and cold Saturday totally worth it.

Many of the conferences I have been to have been fitness and blogging related, so I liked the change of not having a fitness aspect associated with this. I felt like many of the women who presented had a lot to offer in terms of professional and business-related advice to pass along and I left having learned a lot. As with most conferences that I attend, I left feeling invigorated and inspired to create the best content and experience for all of you.

Although Saturday was Halloween, I was wiped from being out all day and the rain + cold made me want to change into sweatpants and curl up on the couch. I headed home and Neil, Matt, and I had a horror movie marathon.

For some absurd reason we decided to order Papa John’s pizza and were all significantly disappointed with it when it came. I think Chicago has ruined me to any national chain pizza and all I will ever be able to eat is Giordano’s for the rest of my life. Good thing they ship nationwide in case we ever move.

Sunday I had to work until about noon. I started with a training client and then headed to Sweat for two classes. I got there early, so it seems the only thing to do was take pictures of myself. I am excited for a row of empty treadmills.

Not too long after, they were filled and everyone did an AWESOME job knocking out a tough partner workout. Props to those of you who got up and sweated it out on a Sunday morning after Halloween!

After work I came home to relax, eat Trader Joe’s Kung Pao chicken, and watch football. Don’t worry, there was also a nap thrown in there somewhere.

I drowned my sorrows watching the Packers play a sad, sad game with Dimo’s pizza, which is slowly becoming our Sunday Night Football routine. After the macaroni and cheese slice I had last weekend, I decided I needed more of it in my life. This made up for the disaster of Papa John’s and then some.

I have a busy schedule this week with teaching, training, and blog work that I have to get wrapped up by Thursday. Friday, Neil and I head to Seattle to visit my brother for the weekend. My sister is also headed out west as well, so it should be a pretty awesome time. I’ve never been, so if you know of any places I should go, let me know!!

Questions:

  • What’s the best thing you did this weekend?
  • What’s the best thing you ate?

  1. Ah, Seattle is the best! I was actually just out there a couple of weeks ago. I have family in the area, so I’ve never done a whole lot of touristy stuff in Seattle, but I do remember having a fantastic breakfast at a place called Geraldine’s Counter, I believe, two years ago. Not sure if they’re still open, but if they are, I recommend it! And since you’ve never been to Seattle, Pike Place Market is a must. All the fresh food and art and handmade goods – it’s a dream. Have fun!!

    1. Thanks for the recommendation! I will definitely check it out. I have the market on the list as well and of course Starbucks…like it will be so much more magical out there haha.

    1. It was great! I come out to LA a couple times a year usually to visit my husband’s family, so next time I will hit you up!
