Even though I love coffee, for some reason I am more a fan of it during the warmer months and when winter comes around I switch to tea. Maybe it’s something about sweat pants and nice steaming mug on the couch, but I literally drink it from when I get up until when I go to bed.

When I was offered the opportunity to work with Bigelow on their holiday campaign, I knew that I could easily talk for days about my love for tea and also have an excuse to drink it nonstop. Last year, I discovered their Eggnog’n tea and a whole new obsession was born. This year I decided to go with their pumpkin spice flavor because a) I’m pretty basic and b) I love spicy black tea.

These are three of my favorite ways to enjoy tea during the holidays. What are some of yours? #MeAndMyTea #ad

As I mentioned yesterday, I picked up some pumpkin spice tea from Walmart in the West Loop.

I wasn’t sure which one to get, but I went with the one that said spice because #spiceislife. I’m also not a huge fan of sweet teas.

There’s something I really love about tea during the holidays. I love sleeping in, making breakfast, and brewing a cup of tea which I drink while planning out my day. With so many flavor options, I can always find a tea to enjoy at any point in the day.

Here are my top three activities to pair with tea during my holidays:

1. Reading

I absolutely love curling up on the couch with a soft blanket, a good book, and some hot tea. I think it makes me feel fancier than I really am. The holidays are a perfect time to catch up on some fiction reading since there’s more downtime for me to pretend I’m British and living in the 1800s.

2. Writing

The holidays can be a whirlwind of emotions. I find that the best way to work through feelings, both positive and negative, is to write. Again, writing while drinking tea and wearing my reading glasses makes me feel like I’m the most poignant person alive. Mostly things just come out as scribbles, but I always feel better and more coherent when I’m done.

3. Working

Yes, I know I said activities to enjoy during the holidays, but for me blogging never feels like work.

This desk gets a LOT of use (duster, not so much). Whenever I’m not training or teaching, I’m usually sitting here working on this blog. As soon as the weather starts to get colder, I find myself with a mug of tea here every day as well.  Even though the holidays can get hectic, I still make sure to find time to get a little work done each day.

If you are in the market for a new tea flavor, I would check out Bigelow’s pumpkin spice. I’m pretty picky about my spiced teas, but this one did not disappoint. It’s a black tea so there is a small amount of caffeine, but is flavored with cinnamon, licorice root, clove, ginger, and pumpkin flakes.  It is a limited edition, however, so grab some before it’s out of season!

  1. My favorite is Bigelow’s Constant Comment, but I may just have to give their Pumpkin Spice a try! A cranberry English muffin with a spoonful of orange marmalade and a cup of tea – bring on the snow! Well, I can always dream of a white Christmas, I guess…

    1. It’s definitely worth it! Something about drinking tea and working at the computer somehow makes me feel more productive 🙂

    1. I know, it makes me feel great when I sit down with some tea and a nice warm blanket (then I usually fall asleep haha)
