Five Things Friday #64
Happy Friday everyone!
If you haven’t already (or want to again), don’t forget to enter to win a $50 gift card from Swanson Health Products! You have until tonight at midnight. To read more about the giveaway and enter for your chance to win, head here. I will email the winner over the weekend, so keep an eye on your emails!
This weekend isn’t too busy, so thankfully I will have some down time to probably sit inside and drink tea in my sweatpants. Does that make me old? Too bad; I love it. Before I do that though, I will be teaching a free Sweat-themed class at the Athleta in Gold Coast, so my Chicago friends are more than welcome to come and enjoy the great location and atmosphere. To sign up, head to their website here. Hope to see some of you there!
In typical Friday fashion, I am here to share some of my favorite things with you. Make sure to let me know some of yours in the comments below!
1. Bath and Body Works Candles
It’s been a good many months since I’ve restocked on Bath and Body Works candles and that is many months too many. I don’t have any good winter scents besides 2316577 pine and evergreen ones, so I stopped by to grab some yesterday. Our place is relatively small and I realized that lighting the 3-wick candles we have soon made the smell overwhelming. I found these tiny ones that are the perfect size for a more subtle scent, so I grabbed a few. Note: right now they are on sale 3 for $12.
2. Vapor Fresh Sports Detergent
Going from scents to unscented, I was provided with a 5 lb tub of this Vapor Fresh sports detergent to try out. Since I spend all of my life in workout clothes both teaching and sweating the days away, I decided to put this detergent to the test. It is free of fragrances and dyes as well as being hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin.
I usually use liquid detergent so I was a little wary about what a powder would do, but everything turned out clean and fresh. I didn’t have any issues with residual odors despite this formulation being fragrance-free. Nice work guys.
3. Rosemary Christmas Tree from Trader Joe’s
Back to more smells. A handful of years ago, the place where I worked brought in a mini rosemary Christmas tree from Trader Joe’s. I thought this was the most amazing thing ever, but I didn’t have any TJs nearby and never got one of my own.
Now that there’s one right up the block, I found them and bought one immediately. It smells amazing and I have rosemary for DAYS. Guess I know how I’m seasoning these chicken breasts tonight and for the end of time.
4. Eggnog Latte from David’s Tea
I posted this on Instagram yesterday because it is one of the most delicious things I have ever had. I got the soy version because (when I’m being responsible with my body) I try to avoid dairy. You are able to pick whatever tea you want to use with the latte and I was recommended the cardamom French toast. I LOVE eggnog, but it can be pretty heavy by itself and I’m also not a huge fan of it when mixed with espresso in the Starbucks version.
Tea is where it’s at with an eggnog latte. I even bought some of the tea by itself to make at home because it smelled delicious. If you have a David’s Tea near you, you must try this immediately. If not, come visit me and I will happily get another.
5. American Horror Story: Coven
Ok, I think this is the last AHS for awhile. I loved this season as well and the house it is set in is absolutely beautiful. I kept thinking about all the pictures I could take in there (I may have an IG problem). The third season is set in New Orleans and focuses around a coven of witches. I still think season two is my favorite, but this one is right up there as well.
Unfortunately, we started watching Freakshow and couldn’t really get into it. I think we may skip that season altogether and start in on the current one: Hotel.
