Five Things Friday #107
Happy Friday!
Today is a pretty light day for me, so I should be able to wrap everything up by around 2:30 pm. Neil’s brother is coming into town for a conference and he is staying with us this weekend, so we may be off on more adventures than we have of late. One of those may include a chocolate tour 🙂
To jump right into Friday and the impending weekend, here are the things I’m loving this week!
1. Reebok Crossfit Nanos
As you know, I’ve been adding some Crossfit classes to my exercise routine. When I visited another studio a few weeks ago, they were having a 50% off sale on their shoes. I saw a pair I NEEDED (ha) to have, but they didn’t have them in my size. Then the obsession began. I checked online and couldn’t find them, so I headed to the Mercari app where I get most of my Lululemon and other expensive exercise stuff for cheaper.
I found these Reebok Crossfit Nano 4.0s and loved them. They’re men’s which means that I don’t have to deal with obnoxious pink and orange colors and they’re amazing so far and I scooped them up for $40!
Remember, if you sign up using the code RDTFCD, you can get $2 and I get $2. BIG SPENDERS.
2. DAVIDs Tea French Toast Cardamom
I can’t believe that I didn’t include this yet. DAVIDs TEA finally brought back their Cardamom French Toast flavor which is my absolute favorite. I tried to stock up last year since it’s seasonal, and it was all gone in like a month. I usually mix this with a scoop of their Saigon Chai to add a little spice, and it’s the best thing ever when they bring back their eggnog lattes.
3. Salads
I’ve been on a bit of a salad kick this last week. I ate at Sweetgreen twice and last night made myself a giant salad at Plum Market. I’m never particularly excited about cold salads, however, so I’ll either order hot ones or warm them up a bit.
Now that it’s Fall and there are squashes a plenty, I want to just throw them all in a bowl and devour them.
4. American Horror Story: Roanoke
I also can’t believe I haven’t included this one yet considering the season is already halfway over. You all may recall my love for AHS and this season is no different. The format is totally different and tells the story of the murdered settlers of the Roanoke colony who refuse to let anyone else occupy their land. My favorite, Evan Peters, didn’t make his appearance until last night and I’m so glad he’s in it for the remainder of the season.
I love how this show uses the same actors but every season is a different story and different people. I actually may go back and watch some of the old ones again because I love it.

5. Pistachio Butter
This may be cheating since I already posted the recipe for this earlier in the week, but I’ve been going through this stuff like crazy. I’ve been having it with jam on English muffins, eating it with dates, and spreading it on apples. I haven’t had a bad combo yet, so if you’ve got a few minutes and some pistachios, you need to make this ASAP.
That’s all I’ve got for this week — I hope you all have a magical and wonderful weekend!
Questions:
- What’s one of your favorite things from this week?
- What are you doing this weekend?
I love AHS but was super late to the game and caught up on all of them on Netflix this year. I am about halfway through Hotel now!

I did the same thing haha. I went through them at record speed. The only season I’d didn’t watch was freak show bc I just couldn’t get into it!
I wouldn’t complain about that salad and pistachio butter right now. Sometimes the simple things are the best!

I wouldn’t be surprised if they opened more locations here for sure

Well I don’t like either of them but the combo is BOMB. YES. Watch it. Although some seasons may be worse for you than others. Definitely try the first season.
Those salads and pistachio butter? ALL of it looks so so good! I didn’t know that you had to use special shoes for Crossfit until you shared that on Instagram this week. 🙂 Now I know something new about Crossfit. 🙂
And a chocolate tour sounds yummy.

You don’t HAVE to but reebok makes some that are designed more for Crossfit than other things. I’ve still worn my regular shoes and been just fine 🙂
I’m not much of a tea drinker (I usually only have it a couple times a year when I’m at a Vietnamese restaurant), but french toast tea sounds delicious!

It’s funny bc I’m not a cardamom or french toast person but I love the tea!

So good. Do it.
I love it when peopel visit you because that means epic food posts on Monday <3
You reminded me, I need to pick up some eggnog. OMG. So amazing.
I thought about this the whole time and was like don’t want to disappoint ange!
Okay, I need to start watching AHS tonight! I keep forgetting about it as a creepy option since Netflix Canada sucks for scary stuff.
