Five Things Friday #144 - Erin's Inside Job

Five Things Friday #144

Happy Friday friends!

I am still riding high from my first wellness workshop last night. Everything went off without a hitch and it was the most wonderful 90 minutes. The first 30 were yoga and the remainder was spent talking about our relationships with food. I wanted to make it a group event and was so impressed with everyone who shared their experiences and lessons they have learned. The next one is already on the books for 7/27 and once I get the link I will be sure and share it with you!

Neil gets back from out of town tomorrow and we plan to have a pretty low key weekend. We don’t have plans for the Fourth, so hopefully we can just relax and the weather will cooperate. Let me know if you have any fun plans in the comments!

To kick off the long weekend, here are some of the things I’m loving this week.

1. SHE Tampons

The lovely ladies at SHE sent me a box of their 100% organic cotton tampons to try out for the month. Usually I don’t really care if my beauty or personal care products are natural, but I figured these have a pretty basic purpose and if they can do the job as well as conventional ones I buy without all the chemicals, it’s worth a shot.

It’s a monthly subscription and you can pick from 18 or 32 count boxes. From there, you select the ratio of light, regular, and super so that way each box is customized to you. One thing I was concerned about was they they would come without an applicator which isn’t exactly my cup of tea, but each comes with a BPA-free plastic applicator and they work just as well as the other ones I typically buy.

If you’re looking for a more natural and organic solution, I’d definitely recommend these!

2. Aqua Audio

I like listening to music around the house, but Neil REALLY likes listening to music around the house. He is always trying to find some way to have speakers in every room. Mind you, we only live in around 988 square feet, so anything played in one room you can hear from another, but apparently that’s not good enough.

A couple weeks ago he bought this Aqua Audio speaker off Amazon and it’s actually pretty amazing. There’s a suction cup so it sticks to the wall of your shower and plays music wirelessly over Bluetooth from your phone. You can even answer phone calls from the shower like you would with Bluetooth in your car. The speaker quality is really great and now I can sing away to my heart’s content. šŸ™‚

3. Kameda Rice Crisps

I recently did an IG post for Kameda, but wanted to include them in here too because their rice cakes are so good to snack on! They come in sweet frosted flavors and savory mini ones, all of which are delicious. You don’t even have to top them, but I had to make them pretty for the picture. HA.

4. New pictures

Neil and I never got engagement pictures, so when Will, a local photographer, asked if we wanted any, I jumped at the chance. Neil and I spent about an hour in Lincoln Park last weekend goofing off and then I got a couple new solo shots for the blog.

I wanted to give a shout out to Will for being incredibly nice and willing to tell me everything I ever wanted to know about cameras. Check out his Instagram here and send him a message if you’re looking for a photographer in the city!

5. Incorporating

Guess who’s a business owner? THIS GIRL.

Not only did I create a business for the blog, but I also opened a second corporation to cover my personal training business. I made the decision because I had multiple streams of income and finally hired an accountant, asking him WHAT DO I DO??

His advice was to open these two corporations and doing so has really made me feel like all of this is real and it’s time to start treating these things as seriously as I can. If you’re in any similar type of situation, I highly recommend talking to an accountant to figure out what your options are!

That’s all I’ve got this week — have a wonderful weekend!!

  1. That is so sweet that you and Neil got pictures together. Also that is so cool that you got your business officially started. I know that you’ve been hustling and working hard for a long time, and it’s neat that it’s now official. I loved how you topped all those rice krisps/cakes. The toppings are so varied and pretty.
