Five Things Friday #168

Alright guys, here it is! It’s the weekend before Christmas. Hopefully you have all your holiday shopping done, but I know I still have a couple things to pick up today. #lastminuteshopper

This week and next will be pretty slow because a couple of my clients are on vacation for the holidays. I plan to spend that time relaxing and working on finishing up planning content for 2018. I know many of you already filled out this survey, but if there’s anything you want to see in the new year, let me know in the comments!

To kick off the holiday weekend, here are some of the things I’m loving this week!

1. Maple Spiced Pecans

I made two batches of these yesterday to give as gifts to clients. They’re one of my favorite holiday recipes to make and they’re SUPER easy. I wasn’t giving them to too many people, but I made two batches anyway because I always eat so many of them as they’re cooling. I’m not apologizing. 🙂

You can find the recipe here if you want or simply by clicking on the photo below!

2. Game of Thrones

Ok, I know I’m about 6 years late to this party, but Neil and I started watching Game of Thrones. At least one redeeming factor is that I’ve read all the books, but for some reason never watched the show. I’m someone who needs to read books if they’re available so that way I can develop my own opinions about settings and characters, so I’m glad I waited.

The books are far more detailed and I was surprised at how quickly the story moved along in the show. I’m glad I read the books, but I’m also glad that the show offers a faster paced explanation because things can get very confusing with so many characters.

3. Chai spice

I had mentioned in a previous Five Things Friday that I had made my own chai spice to add into plain black tea. After I used that up, I realized that I had two containers of this chai spice from King Arthur Flour, so I’ve been using that up in tea as well!

4. Batiste Dry Shampoo

I bought this Batiste dry shampoo on a whim before I traveled because it was the only dry shampoo they had at Walgreens in a travel size. I really like it and even bought some more. The nozzle is really powerful and I feel like it evenly distributes the shampoo onto my hair. The smell is nice and clean and I’ve been using it as my default for awhile now.

Let me know what some of your favorites are in the comments!

5. Amazon Influencer Shop

Guys – this is epic.

I’ve made an influencer shop on Amazon with links to lots of my favorite products and recommendations. A lot of these will look familiar from past Five Things Friday posts and now you can find them all in one place!

I’m still working on adding things, so if there are any products you’re interested in, please let me know! As of now you can find the camera I use, what supplies you need for making kombucha at home, and many books that are on my must-read list.

Just a head up, this is an affiliate program, so if you purchase anything from the store it will be the same cost to you regardless, but I will make a (very small) percentage of the cost. Thanks so much for your support friends. 🙂

That’s all for this week — make sure to take it easy and have the best holiday weekend!

  1. Loving all of these things, too! Especially that dry shampoo. It comes in handy when I don’t feel like washing my hair, which is basically everyday. IT TAKES TOO LONG. Also, Felix and I started watching GoT a few months ago and took a bit of a hiatus around season 5 because life just got busy, but I always said the show should come with a handbook so I can keep up with all of the characters. #everyonehasbeards #isthisjohnsnoworsomeoneelse

  2. My dude – if you feel like splurging a bit more, Drybar’s Detox dry shampoo 1) SMELLS AMAZING and 2) doesn’t build up a ton – it legit makes my hair feel cleaner. (Pantene also has a nice one that doesn’t have any white cast to it.) Also, ps, making those pecans this weekend for office gifts!
