Five Things Friday #212 - Erin's Inside Job

Five Things Friday #212

Hey all! Happy Friday!

I hope you’ve had a good week and have a restful weekend coming up. I found out that I passed my glucose test, which is great because 1) I don’t have gestational diabetes and 2) I don’t have to do the longer 3 hour test. To be honest, the test wasn’t bad at all and I actually liked the glucose drink — anyone else?

No real plans this weekend, mainly because it’s supposed to start getting COLD and I would much rather stay inside. 🙂 I hope you have a great couple days and here’s a look at what I’ve been loving this week!

1. Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

I have been having cravings for peanut butter cups lately and recently finished off a bag of the Resse’s mini cups. Neil was running into TJ’s the other day and I told him that if he found any peanut butter cups there to grab them.

Guys, I think these are my new favorite peanut butter cups. I like them more than Reese’s and they are quickly disappearing in my house. I also picked up two more bags on the way home today…

2. Earthley Wellness

I did some work with Earthley earlier this month and they’re a really great company! They make natural wellness products with all-natural ingredients. I tried out two of their lotions — soothing body butter and good night lotion — but they have many more things to choose from. Both products I have I’ve been using daily for both pregnancy moisturizing and also because it’s so cold and dry here in Chicago!

Definitely take a look at their inventory if you’re looking to add more natural products into your routine. There are things for families, kids, men, and women and you can use the code EarthleyErin15 for 15% off!

3. The Weekly Mac

I’ve written about The Weekly Mac before, but I’m popping in with it again today because she recently started selling her macarons online (sorry, currently only Chicago area only)! I had never had a macaron before she started making them, and the ones I have had since then from other places are AWFUL. Seriously, these are the best things I’ve ever had and I go through them much quicker than I probably need to. 🙂

If you’re in the Chicagoland area, make sure to check out her website to place an order (you can pick/suggest your flavor!). You can also drool over pictures on her Instagram.

4. The Jam appearance

This week marked my television debut as I filmed a guest spot on The Jam, a local morning show. It was such a fun experience and I hope to do more of it in the future!

You can click here to watch the clip on how to eat healthier at a gas station. 🙂

5. Homemade Dog Treats

I shared this post last week, but I didn’t know that Donut would love them so much. I’ve been giving her 1-2 each morning with her breakfast and I’ve seriously noticed an improvement in her coat. She’s even smoother than before and looks forward to these every morning!

Vessi: I wrote about how much Neil liked these shoes in the last Five Things Friday, and since then I’ve gotten my own pair AND discount code to share with you! You can read all about them in that post, but bonus is that if you decide you want your own pair, you can get 10% off with the code ERIN10.

That’s all I’ve got for this week! Make sure to check back on Monday and have a great weekend!

  1. You have me laughing – no, I didn’t like the glucose drink. To me, it tasted like something out of a dirty soda machine…
Funny, when I was pregnant with you, I craved peanut butter cups too! Pop-pop sent along an endless supply of the Reese’s peanut butter eggs during Easter. All these years later, I rarely eat one!
Congratulations on your TV debut! I see the host used to play basketball at ND 🙂

  2. “Funny” story involving gestational diabetes and Trader Joe’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups – I failed the one hour screening by epic proportions, was diagnosed with GD and spent a few nights in the hospital while they got my blood sugar under control. While I was there, a friend was at my house taking care of my dog and I instructed her to remove all of the sweets from my house before I got home, including the tub of peanut butter cups I always kept in the fridge, hahah. I had the baby two months ago and have yet to have a peanut butter cup. Maybe I’ll go to TJ’s this weekend…
Oh and I also enjoyed the taste of the glucose drink 😂

    1. Omg that is too funny!! I heard about this magical tub that they also sell but was instructed to avoid at all costs 😂 Congrats on your baby!!

  3. Yay! No gestational diabetes! Loved your TV clip. You did great. And I got those Vessi shoes for Naveen and he likes them too! They’ll be great for his rainy weather. Thanks for the tip!!
