Five Things Friday #228

Happy Friday!

I have been walking a LOT the past two weeks. The weather has been nice and I find that it's easy to put him in the stroller to enjoy it and for him to get his naps in. He has been a little fussier lately, so the fresh air seems to calm him down and let him sleep while letting me get some exercise and podcast time in. As with every exercise, though, I need to make sure to give myself enough rest because even though it's not as strenuous as my other types of workouts, being outside for 5 hours can still take a big toll on you! The rain kept me inside most of the day yesterday and it was nice to just relax and get some work done at home.

I turn 35 tomorrow. I can't seem to identify with that number at all and if anything, maybe feel like I'm turning 30. I guess it's true that age is just a number, but it's really so weird to me that that's the number I will be. I had wanted to go hiking with the family, but the weather may not cooperate so we will see. Wherever you are, I hope you have a great weekend and here's a look at things I'm loving this week.

1. Peonies

It's peony season and I always forget about how much I like them until I see them pop up. Trader Joe's has a ton of them right now, and I'm sure you can find them other places as well.

I'm always a huge fan of buying myself flowers when the mood strikes; there's nothing like a fresh bouquet to make you smile throughout the day.

2. SunBurnt After-Sun Gel

A follower on Instagram recommended this to me after my epic day in the sun and subsequent sunburn. I ordered it because I don't have any sunburn stuff except for regular lotion and because it's advertised as non-sticky. I don't know about anyone else, but even though aloe feels good (especially out of the refrigerator), I've always hated how goopy and sticky I feel afterwards.

This SubBurnt gel gets a ton of great reviews on Amazon and I can attest to the fact that it's not sticky AT ALL. So far I'm loving it and will use it on all my sunburns this season. 🙂

3. Clorox Extendable Tub and Tile Scrubber

I HATE cleaning the bathroom. I hate it with a passion. Drains make me want to dry heave and I hate any kind of loose, wet hair that may make an appearance. One day I randomly wondered if there was some kind of cleaning apparatus that didn't require me to bend over and get close to drains and dirt in the bathroom. LO AND BEHOLD I went to Target that day and found this one by Clorox. It has done WONDERS for my tub cleaning apprehension and I can't believe I didn't know about or get one sooner.

They don't sell the Clorox brand on Amazon, but do sell another highly rated one by OXO, which is another great brand and I'm sure works just as well. It's a serious game changer.

4. Camden Jogger by Athleta

You know I love shopping at Athleta, not just for exercise clothes but for everyday clothes as well. These joggers have been amazing, although I haven't been able to wear them as much as I want because it's been SO hot here and I've been walking so much. The material is paper thin, so they'd actually be pretty good in warmer seasons, but I haven't worn them out too much yet. I didn't think that they would look good on my build, but they are actually really flattering on those athletic legs of mine. They'd also be great for travel since they are so light and take up so little space!

5. Sizing up!

So Miles is basically three months (12 weeks), but he's still wearing newborn clothes. He is getting long though, so some of his newborn clothes are starting to be a little small length-wise. For fun, I tried putting him in some one-piece 0-3 month clothes that we have and he actually fits in some of them which is VERY EXCITING to me. It's like a new video game level has been unlocked and new wardrobe and picture opportunities exist. This may not be the most exciting thing on this list for everyone else, but I'm pretty pumped about it. 🙂

That's all for this week friends! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
