Five Things Friday #229

Happy Friday!

I hope you all had a wonderful week. With crazy hot temperatures last week, this week was beautiful and bearable. I'm working on testing out a ton of different anti-chafing sticks which you may already know if you follow me on Instagram. That means I've been out and about in said beautiful weather working on valuable thigh-rubbing intel. I'm excited to get a post up for you with my reviews so you know which ones will help!

In other health news, I'm halfway through my pelvic floor therapy, something that I will be sure to write all about on here. If you have any questions about it, don't hesitate to ask! Little Miles also goes to the doctor today to check on his weight and make sure that he's gaining enough, so I'll report back on that as well. He turned 3 months yesterday; where does the time go??

To wrap up the week, here are some of the things I'm loving this week. I hope you guys have a great weekend!

1. BYREDO Chai candle

My absolute favorite candle by BYREDO is Biblioteque, which I received as a gift a couple years ago. Now, for special occasions, I like to treat myself to an expensive candle. Since my birthday was last weekend, I stopped into Barney's to smell them all and settled on this chai scent by BYREDO.

As soon as I smelled it, I said, "hmm, this smells like delicious tea or something." Since it's written in Hindi I wondered if it actually said chai and then the salesman said that was the name of the scent (fun fact: the word chai in Hindi means tea, so ordering a chai tea is slightly redundant). I have it burning right now and I know it will be even better when fall rolls around.

2. Chatbooks photo book

I have a bunch of photo albums in Google photos to document Miles' life, but I realized that I still wanted something tangible to really highlight some of my absolute favorites. I had a book printed from Chatbooks that cost me about $11 and has a bunch of those photos printed out.

I love it and there are ways for you to further customize your book, but I was too excited and just ordered it with only pictures. The best part is that they have an app which I downloaded and made the entire book right from my phone. I could rearrange pages in the app and it was printed and shipped to me in no time. I'm going to be making more of these as he gets older and definitely want one of just him and Donut together.

I have a referral code if you want to get your first book free (up to $10), and I will also get $10 if you decide to use it. It's seriously so great. Use the code ERINBAHADUR-K2TG on your first one!

3. Foot Cream

This is the generic brand of Gold Bond's foot cream from Target and I find that it works just as well. I like to put lotion on my feet after the shower because otherwise they get dry and don't look super cute. Every other lotion I've tried, from regular body lotion to other types of foot-specific lotion, has been sub par and never really moisturized my feet.

I used to use Gold Bond a long time ago and then just kept forgetting to buy more, so when I FINALLY remembered, I grabbed this and realized it's the best ever made.

4. NATURE

One thing I really wanted to do for my birthday was to get out of the city and do something in nature. The problem with having a birthday right in the middle of summer, however, is that the weather is usually too hot to do anything enjoyably (aside from swimming).

There is a park called Matthiessen State Park about 90 min from the city where I wanted us to all go hiking as a family. My actual birthday was over 90 degrees and sunny so that was out. The next day was forecasted to be 75, but rainy, so we weren't sure that it would happen. Miles woke us up around 6 am and Neil told me that the rain had been pushed back until the afternoon, so we packed everyone up and were out of the house by 6:45 am.

It was such a beautiful park and a beautiful day. I'm so glad we were all able to go (Donut included!) and get out in nature because it's something I miss from living in downtown.

5. Athleta Semi-Annual Sale

You guys know I love Athleta and was one of their ambassadors last year. I've shared a bunch of their products in these Friday posts and wanted to let you know that their semi-annual sale is going on right now. I stopped in the store yesterday and actually found some things that I liked, which rarely ever happens for me when I look in sale racks because everything is already picked through.

I'm not exactly sure when the sale officially ends (I tried finding a date on the website), but I know it's only for a couple more days, so check it out here - everything is great!

That's all for this week friends! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
