Five Things Friday #234
I hope you all had a great week and are looking forward to the long weekend. Neil's brother was in town for a few days this week and it really helped because after Miles got his four month shots on Monday he could not be calmed down by anyone except him. He was fine until the mid afternoon, then would start screaming out of nowhere and have to be held horizontally with his head buried in my brother in law's elbow. Thankfully it only lasted that day and after a little Tylenol and a good night's sleep he was back to normal the next day. 🙂
The weather has been beautiful here and the temperatures are slowly starting to drop so that it feels like fall is around the corner. I can't tell if I'm happy or sad about that because for one it means little fall baby sweaters, but on the other it means that winter is closer and the days of gallivanting around the city with a baby are numbered. Either way, we are making the most of what we have left!
Here are some of the things that I'm loving this week. Let me know some of yours in the comments!
1. Baby Sweatshirt from Little One Shop
I'm always on the hunt for adorable baby boy clothes that don't have dumb sayings on them or crazy patterns. When I saw this gray sweatshirt from Little One Shop, I bought it immediately. I thought it was going to be too big on him because I had to order a 3 month size and he wavers between newborn (still) and 0-3 months, but it fit him perfectly and he was SO CUTE.
I also bought a onesie from their shop that I'm happy with, so if you're in the market for some cute boy (or girl) clothes, check them out! There is also an end of summer sale going on now to take advantage of.
2. Blistex Five Star Lip Protection
This has been my favorite chapstick for years and recently Target stopped carrying it. I bought an inferior brand and once that ran out, I checked on Amazon to see if I could get this one on there. The best deal was on a pack of 12, so now I have chapsticks galore in every possible place I could need one.
3. Camera Remote Control
I shared about this camera remote control a couple years ago, but I'm bringing it back because I just ordered another one and it is magical. I couldn't find the original one I bought, but at only $8 it wasn't a problem to replace.
This is a tiny Bluetooth-controlled remote for taking pictures with your camera. This way you don't need to be holding your phone or setting the timer to take selfies and whatever other types of pictures you may want to take. It works with both iOS and Android and is the easiest thing ever to use. I took this picture on Instagram using it and love how it turned out. There also isn't any lag between when you press the button and when the picture is taken which is also key. It's a real game changer!
4. Thigh Society Anti Chafing Shorts
After I wrote my anti-chafing products review, Thigh Society reached out and offered to send me a pair of their anti-chafing shorts. Rather than a cream or stick, these are very thin shorts that you can wear under dresses and skirts to help eliminate chafing.
I ordered the third option in this photo -- ultra high rise. They felt great, but my only issue was that since I'm short, the longer inseam meant that they were almost down to my knees. Not that I wear super short dresses or skirts, but they did feel a little long. I pulled them up some at the bottom which helped, but I think if I got another pair I would opt for the shorter inseam. Definitely a good option if you just want to put these on and forget about them!
5. Us Against You by Fredrik Backman
I warned you this would pop up this week and here it is. A sequel to Beartown, which appeared on last week's Five Things Friday, Us Against You deals with the repercussions of the incident in the previous book and how a town works to try and pick up the pieces of the past. It's another great read and I'm almost done with it, so if you read the first one make sure you pick this one up as well!
That's all for this week friends! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
