Happy Monday friends!
I am coming to you from my local Dunkin’ Donuts because a) the wi-fi at Starbucks has been thoroughly annoying me lately and b) I am paying homage to the fact that they now offer almond milk as an option! Read all about it and see if your local Dunkin’ Donuts is offering almond milk here.
I don’t know that that will increase my consumption of milk alternative drinks because the amount of sugar that they use is atrocious and often too sweet to be enjoyable (is that even a thing?), but there are definitely times when I am in the mood for a latte and can’t have one. Way to be progressive DD.
This weekend was pretty low key and I was able to spend most of Sunday at home since football has started and Neil turns into a zombie for the next few months. Always around this time I start nesting and feel an incredible urge to cook and bake and be warm and cozy. The temperature today has plummeted and I had to turn my space heater on at work. I may be a vampire.
This weekend is the last one before my half marathon this Saturday, so Carly and I knocked out our last long run. We started at 7 am and ran 12 miles. We are going to rock this race. It was incredibly humid and I was really thirsty by the end of it. Thankfully, some kind soul always leaves a giant cooler of ice water right by where we start so I was able to drink to my heart’s content.
That night we headed to MD for Neil’s 10 year high school reunion. The weather was absolutely horrible and we were stuck looking for parking in a torrential downpour. We eventually made it and stayed for a few hours. My 10 year reunion was 2 years ago. #weold
Sunday was a lazy morning and we watched Bad Neighbors while we ate breakfast. I met my mom and sister at Sweetwater Tavern for lunch since my mom was in town. They saved me some kind of mutant crab ball and I had a salad with chicken, mixed greens, tomatoes, corn, dates, and cranberries. The dates were an interesting choice. I love dates, but they almost made this salad too sweet. Good thing I didn’t get an almond milk latte afterwards.
I had seen these on a couple blogs and when I saw them in the store I knew I had to try them. I’m not even a big cotton candy fan, but I had to try this experiment of nature. They seriously taste like cotton candy, so if that’s your thing you’d better find them ASAP.
Since Neil was preoccupied with football, I decided to actually make a dinner and threw together some things for a Mexican casserole. It turned out pretty well and I am glad to have so much to last throughout the week!
I got an email this morning about a sale on PRO Compression socks and wanted to pass along the discount code to you since I have done so many posts about these socks. Use code FALL14 at checkout on all marathon compression socks and calf sleeves and get 40% off! Check them out here. Ends 9/15!!
Question of the day: What did you do this weekend? Are you excited about almond milk at Dunkin Donuts?
