Wow. Just wow. I was Googling the benefits of CPT vs. group exercise certs and came across your page. As I was reading your posts, I was struck by how similar we seem to think! I read all of your posts regarding exercise/PT and gained some truly useful information. Then I came upon your posts about addiction and recovery. As a woman in recovery myself, I just really appreciate your candor and honesty. It feels good to know that I’m not alone and there’s another person with a similar story that has turned her life into something awesome! Keep it up Erin, you are reaching people!!
Hi Erin!
I recently came across your blog post and followed you on instagram from there and I appreciate how honest all your posts are. Thank you for saying it as it is. While I understand you may not be an expert in mental health, I feel you would be somewhat experienced to answer my question. When do you know therapy is working? I have been seeing a therapist for 8 months now and while we mostly talk random stuff and I get an avenue to unload my thoughts, Im not sure if its made a huge difference in my life. Am i doing it wrong? Should I look for another therapist? I feel valued and listened to with my therapist and she uses a lot of “why do you think you feel like this?” technique, so its mostly me coming to self realisation but it doesn’t feel liberating. I sought out therapy after having a panic attack and didn’t know how to deal with it. I feel like I became okay on my own, and I just go to her to talk and unload my thoughts because I don’t have anyone else to talk to.
I love your blog.
